Ospreys adopt new “sensible lipo rules” for 2014 season for club racing

We have decided to change our cell rules to race with lipos that might just last more than 4 or 5 meetings.  We all know the current NAVIGA rules mean we are forced to run cells which are too “fragile” for the job….   So basically we have decided on the following:

2s & 4s any cells of your choice upto 6,600 mah – provided they are in the original wrapper as per manufacturer.  If the cells are not in original wrapper then they must be below the existing NAVIGA 280 grams rule.

3s & 6s any cells of your choice upto 4,500 mah – provided they are in the original wrapper as per manufacturer.  If the cells are not in original wrapper then they must be below the existing NAVIGA 280 grams rule.

The aim of this is to make the hobby more affordable for all of us, we can review the decision at the end of 2014 season.  So for next year you can choose whatever C rated cells you want, provided they conform to the new rule.

The newly formed SWARM club (formally SWABC) have also adopted our idea,  we aim to propose our suggestions to ELECTRA as well at their forthcoming AGM.
